Information for New CGMA Representatives

Welcome to Coast Guard Mutual Assistance!

Congratulations on your appointment as a Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Representative.

Several actions must be completed to successfully assume or transfer the duties and responsibilities of being a unit's Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Representative or Assistant Representative from one person to another.

Please Review the CGMA Manual. Paying particular attention to Chapters 2, 3, 4 and Appendix E. These chapters provide detailed information about being a CGMA Representative, including:

  • Actions Necessary Upon Appointment (Section 2.F.1)

  • Responsibilities (Section 2.F.2)

  • Assistance Policies (Chapter 3)

  • Approval Authority (Section 4.C)

  • Case Management (Chapter 4 and Appendix E)

You will find that other chapters of the Manual will help you conduct your Mutual Assistance activities. It is strongly recommended that you become familiar with all sections of the CGMA Manual.

Additional helpful information is provided online in CGMA-HQ Items and in Rep's News Representatives are encourage to visit both of these pages often.

To help make this transition easier, we have provided the following summary of items which must be completed upon your assignment as a CGMA Representative or Assistant Representative. You will need to print and complete the following forms they are available in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format:

After completing these items you will need to obtain a User Name and Password to access the CGMA-CMP program. See Section 2-F-1-e of the CGMA Manual for additional information.
